1. A Phase I/II, Multicenter, Open-Label, Dose-Escalation, Safety and Efficacy Study of PHY906 Plus Capecitabine in Patients With Advanced, Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma (enrollment starts from 5/1/2004) The goal of this clinical trial conducted in four US cancer centers is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an oral Chinese herbal compound combined with cepacitabine in the treatment of advanced unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma.
2. "A Phase III Randomized Placebo Controlled Study of Sorafenib in Patients with Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma" (enrollment starts from 5/1/05) This is a randomized, multicenter, worldwide clinical trial is to assess the effectiveness of oral Sorafenib (a RAF kinase inhibitor with additional VEGF and PDGF inhibitor properties) in the treatment of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma.
